As Republicans rush to seize on the New Jersey Court ruling on gay marriage to rally their base for the upcoming midterms, the GOP position is becoming crystal-clear:¬†If you want gay sex, don’t do it with consenting adults, just under-age kids.

Introducing new legislation entitled Leave No Child’s Behind, House Speaker Denny Hastert said, “Hey, if it’s good enough for the Catholic Church, it’s good enough for us.”

There are also reports that Karl Rove, the “evil genius” who is desperately trying to stave off an imminent GOP electoral disaster, is planning a new, more vicious ad campaign against Tennessee’s Harold Ford, Jr.¬† This ad apparently features several of the principals from Queer Eye saying that they ran into Ford at a production of Cage aux Folles.

The ad concludes with one of these actors — a white guy — winking into the camera, and saying “Harold, call me.”

Rove, in an interview with Rush Limbaugh, explained: “if we can hang the bastard for being black and gay,¬†well it doesn’t get any better than that.”¬†¬†¬†¬†

Also speaking out in favor of the GOP policy on gays was RNC Chairman¬†Ken Mehlman, who addressed the media from his log cabin retreat.¬† Mehlman explained that he had “nothing against gay sex per se, but that it should remain in the closet, where I can personally attest it’s actually much better.”

Mehlman concluded his appearance by also winking into the camera, and saying “Harold, call me.”
