A top-level Pentagon source has revealed¬†that the Administration is¬†developing secret contingency plans to attack and invade Seymour “Sy” Hersh, the intrepid investigative reporter from The New Yorker Magazine.
A highly classified National Intelligence Estimate asserts that Sy Hersh constitutes a grave and imminent threat to the survival of the Bush Administration, and that unless he is immediately stopped, the whole Bush-Cheney Regime could topple like the statue of Saddam Hussein.
Most shockingly, Pentagon War Game planners are even considering the nuclear option, since Mr. Hersh, already assailed for his ground-breaking exposes of Government abuses, has taken the precaution of writing his stories in a facility 75 feet underground, or in the equally impregnable Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.  Reportedly, Mr. Hersh, as a further security measure, has also been carrying phony papers identifying him as David Halberstam.
The Pentagon source also sought to discredit Mr. Hersh, suggesting that his prior stories of gloom and doom didn’t pan out. When¬†asked about¬†Hersh’s reports that first blew the lid off Abu Ghraib, he replied that the allegations of torture and abuse were greatly¬†exaggerated:
For example, that dude standing on box, wearing wires and hood, clearly created a mistaken impression. He was just imitating, a Ku Klux Klanner — trying to get better TV Reception.¬†
Asked if¬†¬†there were also plans to occupy Hersh or engage in “Hersh-building,” the high-ranking official¬†stated: “Nah, we already went down that road in Iraq; with Seymour, we’re just gonna’ bust him up and get the fuck outta’ there.” (Other sources, however, contradicted this view, indicating that Halliburton had already been awarded a no-bid contract to reconstruct Mr. Hersh’s nose.)
When contacted about these reports, Mr. Hersh declined to respond, stating that he was too busy cleaning his bathroom, in anticipation of the inevitable Cheney claim that he was developing a program of germ warfare.

NEWSWORTHY:¬† On the subject of biological weapons, the story, of course, had to be the lead in yesterday’s Washington Post, detailing how the Bushies continued to hype false “intelligence” well after it had been thoroughly discredited.¬† However, as regards the “good soldier” Colin:
